Azaleana Manor | Orange Park, Florida Wedding Venue on the St. Johns River in Clay County

Hi friends… it’s Petey and Pickles here - Your favorite beverage burros in northeast Florida!

We recently visited Azaleana Manor in Orange Park, Florida, and let us just say… this one deserves a full burro report.

First Impressions

We arrived, stepped off the trailer, and immediately did what any professional burro would do…

✔ Checked the grass
✔ Scoped the snack potential
✔ Evaluated the vibes

And WOW.

The property sits right on the St. Johns River, and between the water views, open space, and peaceful setting—it’s basically a burro’s dream venue.

Also… the grass? Delicious - I mean looks great...10/10, highly recommend.

What We Loved About Azaleana Manor

Let’s break it down (from expert-level beverage burros):

  • The riverfront views are unreal—like, we looked majestic just standing there

  • The patio area is PERFECT for cocktail hour (aka our time to shine)

  • Plenty of open space for guests to mingle… and for us to make our rounds in the fresh air

  • The setting feels peaceful but still elevated—very “luxury but relaxed”

  • The grass and grounds were super comfortable for walking and interacting

And most importantly…

The Staff & Vendors = Elite

We notice everything. Seriously.

And the team at Azaleana Manor?
Absolutely amazing and so welcoming, good vibes on point.

Why Azaleana Manor Is Perfect for Beverage Burros

If you’re planning a wedding at Azaleana Manor in Orange Park, FL here’s why we approve:

  • The patio setup creates the perfect cocktail hour experience

  • Guests naturally gather and interact (which means more snacks—uh, we mean service opportunities)

  • Plenty of room for us to move safely and comfortably

  • The outdoor setting keeps everything relaxed and engaging and there is a perfect corner for us to hide and stay out of sight during the ceremony.

Basically… it’s the kind of place where we don’t just show up—we become part of the experience.

Burro Moment of the Day

At one point, we had a full crowd gathered around—photos, laughs, drinks being grabbed…

And someone said,
“This is the best thing I’ve ever seen at a wedding.”

We made eye contact.
We kept working.

But we surely agree!

Pro Tip From Petey & Pickles

If you’re getting married at Azaleana Manor, set up a small cooler or refill station near the patio area to the left of the building.

We move fast, and keeping those drinks stocked keeps the whole experience flowing.

Behind the Scenes at Donkey Daze 2026: A Day in the Life of the Burro Buddies Crew

By Pickles, Petey, Lola, and Pistachio (with a little help from Mom)

The entire Burro Buddies crew loaded up and headed to Tree Line Farm in Williston, Florida for the inaugural Donkey Daze event, May 30, 2026. Unlike most of our outings where we're serving beverages or greeting guests at weddings and corporate events, this day was all about celebrating donkeys.

And from a donkey's perspective?

It was one of the best days ever.

What Made Donkey Daze So Special?

One of the first things we noticed when we arrived was something we almost never experience:

Other Donkeys!

At most Burro Buddies events, we're the only donkeys there. This time, we were surrounded by fellow long-eared friends of every shape and size.

We met:

  • Miniature donkeys

  • Standard donkeys

  • Giant Mammoth donkeys

Some of those Mammoth donkeys were so big we had to stop and stare for a minute!

It was a rare opportunity for us to socialize, observe, and simply enjoy being around other donkeys.

A Rainy Day Done Right

The weather gave us a little bit of everything.

  • Light rain showers

  • Cool breezes to cool down the heat

  • Fresh grass everywhere

The farm looked absolutely beautiful with all the lush green grass.

Pickles' Perspective

As one of the more experienced members of the team, Pickles took the day in stride.

His favorite parts included:

  • Meeting new people

  • Grazing between activities

  • Watching the larger donkeys

  • Getting lots of neck scratches

  • Relaxing with fellow donkey enthusiasts

For Pickles, Donkey Daze was less about competition and more about enjoying a day dedicated entirely to donkeys.

Petey's Perspective

Petey arrived ready to show off his skills.

Throughout the day he participated in several activities and proudly earned:

🥈 2nd Place – Obstacle Course

🥉 3rd Place – Costume Contest

Petey tackled the obstacle course with confidence and proved once again why he's such a reliable event donkey. He also enjoyed meeting visitors and posing for plenty of photos.

Lola's Perspective

Lola spent the day doing what Lola does best—being adorable.

Her highlights included:

  • Meeting new friends

  • Showing off her costume

  • Exploring the grounds

  • Visiting other donkeys

  • Soaking up attention from spectators

Her efforts paid off when she earned:

🥈 2nd Place – Costume Contest

Not bad for a little spotted girl!

Pistachio's Big Day

If there was a star of the day, it might have been Pistachio.

This was only his second public outing ever, and we couldn't be more proud of him.

Despite being one of the youngest members of the crew, Pistachio:

  • Participated in the Obstacle Course

  • Completed the Poker Trail Run

  • Met countless new people

  • Handled the busy environment beautifully

His confidence and willingness to try new things earned him:

🥈 2nd Place – Poker Trail Run

For a donkey on only his second outing, that's a huge accomplishment.

More importantly, he gained valuable experience that will help prepare him for future Burro Buddies events.

Why Events Like This Matter

While the ribbons were fun, the biggest success wasn't the placings.

Events like Donkey Daze provide opportunities for our donkeys to:

  • Build confidence

  • Experience new environments

  • Practice their training

  • Socialize with other donkeys

  • Meet new people

  • Continue learning in a positive setting

As working donkeys, these experiences help them become even more comfortable and successful at the weddings, corporate events, festivals, and community gatherings they attend throughout the year.

Results From the Day

Burro Buddies Placings

  • 🥈 Pistachio – Poker Trail Run

  • 🥈 Petey – Obstacle Course

  • 🥈 Lola – Costume Contest

  • 🥉 Petey – Costume Contest

Final Thoughts

Donkey Daze reminded us why we love sharing these incredible animals with the world.

The ribbons will eventually get tucked away, but the memories of watching Pistachio gain confidence, seeing Petey show off his skills, watching Lola charm everyone she met, and spending a day surrounded by fellow donkey lovers will stay with us for a long time.

Most days, our donkeys have a job to do.

This day was simply about celebrating what makes donkeys so special.

And judging by all the smiles, scratches, and snuggles, we'd call that a pretty successful day.
